Motherboard is the main circuit board of a microcomputer. The motherboard contains the connectors for attaching additional component/part. Usually, the motherboard contains the socket for CPU (central processing unit/ processor), BIOS, the slots for memory, the header for storage interfaces(hard disk), northbridge chipset , southbridge chipset, back panel connector, expansion slots ( AGP slot, PCI slot, PCI Express slot, and all the controllers that required to control standard peripheral devices, such as the display screen, and keyboard.
